The Kappa Delta Foundation is the charitable organization of Kappa Delta Sorority that provides funding to further Kappa Delta's charitable and benevolent purposes. The foundation also provides leadership and educational training for collegiate and alumnae members and is supported by donations from Kappa Delta alumnae and collegians.
The Kappa Delta Foundation gives us a basis to be involved in our community. We are pround to say that our chapter is not only involved in our four national philantrophies, but we are also involved in the many different community service opportunities on our campus. As Kappa Deltas one of our main goals in making a positive difference in our commuinity! This goal not only has us working hard with our own philanthropies, but also supporting the other Greek philanthropies!
Local Philanthropies:
Not only do we enjoy working with our national philanthropies but we also make contributions to the Arnold Palmer Children's Hospital. Arnold Palmer Children's Hospital is dedicated entirely to children from the waiting rooms to the actual rooms. Our chapter enjoys working to help fund research.
In addition to our work with Arnold Palmer we are extremely close with our local Girl Scout troops. From making cards to selling cookies with the girls, we are hoping to show them just how much Kappa Deltas care! We are able to help them earn badges specifically for working with Kappa Deltas!
At least once a year we put on a Charity Denim sale on campus. Charity Denim is a company that is able to buy jeans and other designer clothing pieces directly from manufacturers and sell to college students! This event takes place at least once a year and all proceeds go towards one of our philanthropies, Prevent Child Abuse America!
We believe that participating in philanthropies is important but we also believe that raising self esteem of women is equally important. Kappa Delta has three coalitions that we work with: National Woman's Friendship Month, The Dove Campaign for Real Beauty, and the Confidence Coalition.
You can find us supporting all three of these causes through flyers around campus, booths outside of the campus center, and other things. We want everyone to know that they are beautiful and have friends and sisters their to support them and help raise their self esteem!
In an effort to achieve these goals Kappa Delta has partnered up with the Dove Campaign for Real Beauty and the Confidence Coalition.
Dove Campaign for Real Beauty:
The campaign is a global effort intended to serve as a starting point for societal change and act as a catalyst for widening the definition and discussion of beauty. Girls and women of all ages benefit from the campaign as we explore what it is to be beautiful with our friends, coworkers, mothers and daughters.
The Dove Campaign for Real Beauty has included controversial ads of real women with real curves in their underwear, a SuperBowl ad promoting self-esteem among girls, activity booklets, a comprehensive Web site and more. Kappa Delta is proud to join forces with Dove to make a difference in the lives of women and girls across the country. Click here to learn more about this groundbreaking campaign.
Confidence Coalition:
Kappa Delta took it upon herself to establish the Confidence Coalition in the Spring of 2009. The primary purpose of the Confidence Coalition is to motivate different companies and organizations to strive in promoting positive self-esteem among women of all ages. You can too be a part of this movement by pledging your confidence at www.confidencecoalition.org!
In the short time that the coalition has been active, it has recieved the support of almost thirty organizations of all kinds.
